About John Dutton
John D. Dutton has his law practice in Chester, Virginia. His primary areas of practice are retirement estate planning, estate and trust administration, and elder law, including special needs trusts, Medicaid planning, qualification of veterans and their spouses for VA Aid and Attendance benefits. He also works with residents residing in assisted living and nursing facilities when they lose the support of their families or caregivers.
He also works with buyers, sellers, Realtors and lenders seeking to buy, sell or refinance residential real estate, and with entrepreneurs seeking to set up their own businesses.
Mr. Dutton has over twenty years of experience in estate and trust taxation and administration, working with individuals and couples, and with the heirs and beneficiaries deceased family members.
He also has over ten years experience handling residential and commercial real estate matters.
He earned his BA degree in economics and his JD degree from the University of Virginia. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Chesterfield Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
